First Still Life In Oil
The first thing we did was to gesso the canvas
We made our own view finders to set proportions
We used odorless mineral spirits, which likes to be runny and that is ok. We called it "toning down".
Made sure we were standing were all our supplies are eye sight and arms reach away.
We took notes on the canvas with lots of mineral spirits.
We used burnt sienna first.
Objects in canvas can run off.
Turn off what you know and paint what you see.
We used gold, yellow and red for the pot.
We used gold, yellow, red and blue for the cup.
We used dark red, blue and white for background of girl.
The list of colors we used total were Yellow Ochre, Cadmium Orange Hue, Cadmium Yellow Hue, Burnt Sienna, Titanium White, Cerulean Blue Hue, French Ultramarine, Cadmium Red Hue, Permanent Alizarin Crimson.
